A superb example of a late 19th- and early 20th-century farm and tourist retreat, Historic Johnson Farm is the site of the former home of wealthy tobacco farmer Oliver Moss, which was handmade from bricks fired on site from French Broad River mud. Visitors can explore the grounds, which include many outbuildings, such as a barn, boarding house, cottage and tool shed/blacksmith shop, and stroll along two nature trails. It lies four miles northwest of downtown Hendersonville.
